Winter storm leaves several ski areas with over 200 inches for the season

Copper Mountain still holds its claim of “the snowiest resort in Colorado right now,” but after winter storms left several feet of snow in the mountains over the past week, other ski areas aren’t far behind.

DENVER (KDVR) — Copper Mountain still holds its claim of “the snowiest resort in Colorado right now,” but after winter storms left several feet of snow in the mountains over the past week, other ski areas aren’t far behind.

Copper Mountain was the first ski area to hit 200 inches, almost 17 feet, of snow for the season, a coveted milestone usually held by areas like Wolf Creek Ski Area or Steamboat Ski Resort. While Copper tallied 209 inches for the season on Thursday, Feb. 13, after the most recent winter weather, other ski areas are catching up.
