DENVER (KDVR) — Last August, new laws went into effect here in Colorado surrounding lane filtering, the practice that allows motorcycles to share a lane side by side with cars at certain points. As the weather heats up, more motorcyclists are starting to hit the road for the first full year with those lane filtering laws in effect, and the Colorado State Patrol wants to make sure both riders and drivers know the laws to keep everyone safe.
“Some people think that lane filtering is going in-between and riding on the dotted line, but that is not true,” said trooper Sherri Mendez.
