The Douglas County School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve a plan to consolidate three elementary schools, despite strong opposition from parents and community members.

CASTLE ROCK (KDVR) — The Douglas County School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to approve a plan to consolidate three elementary schools, despite strong opposition from parents and community members.

In a 7-0 vote, the board agreed to close Saddle Ranch, Heritage, and Acres Green elementary schools. Students will be reassigned to nearby campuses — Eldorado Elementary, Summit View, and Fox Creek — starting in the 2026-2027 school year.
