OnemanremainedhospitalizedinfairconditionFridaywhiletheotherwastreatedatahospitalandreleased.
TherescueshappenedlateThursdaynearthesummitofTorreysPeak,a14,300-foot(4,360-meter)mountainabout40miles(64kilometers)westofDenver.TorreysPeakisrankedvariouslyasthe11thor12thhighestsummitinColoradoandislessthan200feet(60meters)shorterthanthestate’shighestmountain,MountElbert.
ThemenfromNewYorkstate,whoseidentitiesweren’treleased,haddecidedtosummitthemountainduringaroadtrip,AlpineRescueTeampublicinformationofficerJakeSmithsaid.
