Aurora mayor pushes community college for faster development of Lowry land

As the state faces looming budget cuts, a battle over what to do with 116 acres of land in Aurora’s Lowry area is becoming more heated.

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — As the state faces looming budget cuts, a battle over what to do with 116 acres of land in Aurora’s Lowry area is becoming more heated.

The Colorado Community College System, which uses the land, says it’s considering what to do with unused portions of the property, but Aurora’s mayor says administrators are not doing enough. The land could be a future goldmine and developing it could ease housing problems.
