DENVER (KDVR) — Tensions between the town of Firestone and the Central Weld County Water District have reached a boiling point as the directors voted unanimously on Friday to cancel the town’s water service.
The change becomes effective on Aug. 21, 2028, and water district officials said in a press release issued on Friday that the decision was made after years of “mounting challenges with the Town of Firestone’s current management and Board of Trustees, which have made the partnership unworkable and financially unsustainable.”
